Mary Ward School, Jhamsikhel:
In 1986, Mary Ward School was started in Jhamsikhel
for the very poor children. Sisters Frances and Asha did all
they could to look after these children, bathing them, combing
their hair and giving them food, etc. Soon the students achieved
a sense of cleanliness and began to study. They have regular
eye check up, hair cutting programmes organized by the ASMAN.
They are given midday meal everyday, their uniforms and books
are taken care of, so that they can study in a normal atmosphere.
Tailoring and Literacy classes are also conducted for young
girls and women. At the end of the tailoring course, they
receive a Diploma so that they can work on their own and be
self-reliant.
