| Mary
Ward School, Lubhu:
The school in Jhamsikhel is up to the fifth grade.
In order to give these children an opportunity to study up
to Class ten, Mary Ward School in Lubhu was started in 1997,
as an extension of Jhamsikhel school. It has already sent
out three batches of SLC students. Out of those, a few who
are good in study are sent to other schools to complete their
plus 2. Lubhu also has regular medical check up programmes
and coaching classes for the students. Midday meal is provided
for the lower class students.
There is a Centre for Literacy and Tailoring for women. At
the end of the course, they receive a Diploma which helps
them to be self-supporting.
A small dispensary run by the sisters renders treatment to
the children and poor people around the village. The sisters
move out to the nearby villages providing them with medical
assistance.
